"Cousins Dream Alike" takes place after the events portrayed in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 - The Dream Child".

 

It has been three years since Alice Johnson battled it out against dream demon Freddy Krueger and the Nightmares have long been over.

Alice's cousin, Mickey, moves to Springwood when his father is transferred there with work.  Mickey soon settles in and meets up with a group of friends but it isn't long before Mickey discovers that it's more than a bloodline that he and Alice share, it's also their dreams.
